Jonathan Daniels currently serves as the Executive Director of the Port of Oswego Authority, where he is responsible for the administrative functions and development of the port. He was appointed to this position in June 2007. Prior to joining the Port of Oswego Authority he served as the President and CEO of Eastern Maine Development Corporation where he oversaw the day-to-day operations and regional development efforts of the six-county economic development district. Jonathan brings a wealth of experience in port management, international trade, and economic development to the Port of Oswego as he served as the Managing Director of the Greater Baton Rouge Port Commission and the Port of Greater Baton Rouge in Louisiana. While in Baton Rouge the port ranked fourth in the United States in total tonnage. In addition he also served as the Port Director of the Port of Eastport, Maine, where he oversaw the development of the $20 million Estes Head Cargo Terminal. He is a 1991 graduate of The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina, with a degree in International Politics and Military Affairs, and has completed graduate work in Maritime Management at Maine Maritime Academy in Castine, Maine. In addition, he is a graduate of the International Program of Port Planning and Management at the Louisiana State University Ports and Waterways Institute, and has completed several port management sessions with the American Association of Port Authorities.
